When you go to a store to buy a drink, you often choose coke or Pepsi. Why? Because these companies spend so much for their advertisement that when it comes to cold drinks, the name that pops up in peoples’ mind is coke or Pepsi.

Similarly, whether it’s a shoe brand or a clothing brand, advertisement has to be done properly so that people can know about the products and then buy these products.

Now, the question is why digital marketing is important? Why not continue the same traditional marketing through bill boards?

If we go back a few decades, let’s say 1970 or 1980. We know that internet almost didn’t exist back then. People used to read newspapers and listen to radios. Mostly people didn’t have a television. So, at that time, If a business wanted to approach a large audience, it had to choose bill boards because people read the posters and bill boards while going on the road in their cars.

If we talk about today, take an example of you and your friend in a car. If you are driving, then most probably your friend would be using his phone. In your house, most of the time you spend is on social media and television. Right?

So, the traditional bill boards and posters are now of no use because people don’t bother to read them when they are scrolling through facebook or youtube.

Alright, So now if a company has to reach a large audience, why not use the same plateforms which billions of people are using? I mean if people are scrolling through facebook, why not put an advertisement there? If people are watching an entertainer on youtube, why not give him money to promote our product? If people are searching something on google, why not put the related product in the article people are reading? This is where digital marketing comes into play.

Since, billions of people are using facebook, youtube and google, companies are now paying attention towards advertisement through these platforms. In this way, they can reach a large number of audience in a couple of hours as soon as anew product is launched. They can also target the specific category of people looking for the same product that they are manufacturing. In this way, getting more sale is now no problem. It’s just how a company is using digital marketing.

Maybe you searched on google “What is digital Marketing” and google showed this website in the results. In this case, “What is digital Marketing” was the keyword and as this keyword was included in the title of the article, google was able to reach this article easily and that is why it ranked higher than other articles.

What are things that matter in SEO? Search engine use different algorithms which change over time. These algorithms are only known to these search engines. But there are few things that can help in ranking higher in search engine optimization:

Google or other search engines surf the web depending upon the keyword that is searched. Now, this is important to use keywords having high volume and low competition if you want to attract a large number of audience and stand out among others. Now, the content doesn’t have to be stuffed by keywords. Just make sure to use proper keywords in the title, introduction and in few headings. In this way, it becomes easy for the search engine to search your content and present to the person looking for it.

High Quality Content:

Now, after the keyword research, the content has to be high quality and engaging for the audience looking for it. If your content is not of good quality, it is most likely to be ranked down resulting in less traffic.

Content Indexing:

It is important that the search engines can read your content so that it can be shown up in the search results. If your content is un-accessible to the search engines, it is most likely that your content won’t be shown in the search results.

Affiliate Marketing:

Affiliate marketing is promoting the products of a company and getting commission on every sale your drive.

Now, many companies and brands pay people in order to promote the products by their content like blogs or youtube channels or facebook pages. When people see their content and they buy something, the company pays some percentage of the e product price to the person promoting it. People see your content and if they like the product, they visit amazon. If they buy the product, you get some percentage in commission.
